Over the years, the weather for this race has either been bad or horrendous so it was a pleasant surprise for the 34 runners who decided to
take the ‘Tour’ this year that conditions were dry and bright – albeit it remained icy underfoot making the descents ‘interesting’.
Matt Stott and Ake Fangereng, both from MDC led the from the start and finished with a substantial lead over the next runners.
Ron Davies and Sasha Habgood, both from Mynydd Du seemed to have a close run battle with Rona outsprinting Sasha to finish two
The good visibility made route finding bit less of a lottery and all competitors managed to navigate the course without too much
Thanks as always to ‘Del Boy’ Thornley who has marshalled at Cribyn every year since the race’s inception - and every year says
‘never again’. Thanks also to Steve Force and daughter Bethany for looking after Fan y Big.
This was the first year in the race’s history that the weather conditions could be described as pleasant.
